Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last Updated: January 1, 2026 • Effective: January 1, 2026
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how subscription cancellations, refunds, and billing disputes are handled for OpusPDF ("OpusPDF", "we", "us", or "our").
This policy forms part of the OpusPDF Terms of Service and applies to all users unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1. General Principles
- OpusPDF is a subscription-based SaaS platform providing immediate access to digital services.
- Fees are charged in advance for the applicable billing period.
- Refunds are limited and discretionary due to the nature of digital services and instant resource consumption.
- Abuse, excessive usage, or policy violations void refund eligibility.
2. Subscription Cancellation
2.1 How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through:
- Your account dashboard, or
- The billing provider's subscription management interface
2.2 Effect of Cancellation
- Cancellation stops future renewals only
- You will retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period
- No partial refunds are issued for unused time unless explicitly stated otherwise
3. Refund Policy
3.1 General No-Refund Rule
Except where required by law, all payments are non-refundable once processed.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Monthly or annual subscription fees
- Add-on purchases or usage-based charges
- Renewals processed automatically
3.2 Limited Refund Eligibility (Discretionary)
OpusPDF may, at its sole discretion, issue a refund in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Duplicate charges caused by a billing error
- Service-wide outages preventing meaningful access shortly after purchase
- Clearly demonstrable technical failure attributable solely to OpusPDF
Refunds are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
3.3 Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Change of mind or accidental purchase
- Failure to cancel before renewal
- Infrequent or partial usage
- Lack of familiarity with features
- Account suspension or termination due to policy violations
- Excessive, abusive, or disproportionate usage (including OCR fair-use violations)
- Administrative or enforcement actions taken in accordance with OpusPDF policies
4. Free Trials and Promotional Periods
If OpusPDF offers a free trial or promotional access:
- No payment is due during the trial unless you upgrade
- Failure to cancel before trial expiration may result in automatic billing
- Charges incurred after trial conversion are non-refundable
5. Usage, Fair Use, and Refund Exclusion
Because OpusPDF services involve immediate consumption of computational resources:
- Any meaningful use of paid features may render the subscription non-refundable
- High OCR usage, high-resolution processing, or enforcement-triggering activity disqualifies refund eligibility
- "Unlimited" features remain subject to fair-use enforcement regardless of refund requests
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
6.1 Chargebacks
Initiating a chargeback without first contacting OpusPDF support may result in:
- Immediate account suspension
- Permanent account termination
- Forfeiture of access to purchased services
6.2 Dispute Resolution
We strongly encourage users to contact support@opuspdf.com before filing a payment dispute so issues can be resolved efficiently.
7. Billing Provider Authority
- All billing operations are handled by OpusPDF's authorized payment provider(s)
- Provider transaction records and webhooks are the sole source of billing truth
- Refunds, if approved, are processed through the original payment method whenever possible
8. Taxes and Fees
Refunds, if issued, do not include:
- Non-refundable taxes
- Payment processing fees
- Currency conversion or bank charges
9. Enterprise and Special Agreements
Business, enterprise, or custom subscription agreements may define separate refund or cancellation terms. In such cases, the written agreement governs.
10. Policy Changes
OpusPDF may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the website or user dashboard.
Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
